Hair grows in cycles. So do results.

The laser can only disable a follicle while its hair is actively growing and still attached to the root. At any moment, only some of your hairs are in that phase, which is why we treat in a series spaced weeks apart. Drag through the sessions to see how it adds up.

Growing Laser works hereThe hair is anchored to the root and full of pigment, so it carries the laser's energy straight to the follicle.
TransitionThe hair detaches from its root and stops growing. It no longer responds well to treatment.
RestingThe follicle pauses before a new hair starts. It will be ready for a future session.

How it works

Light in. Hair out.

Laser hair removal uses the pigment in your hair as a pathway. Every pulse follows the same three steps, and the cooled handpiece helps keep the surface of your skin comfortable throughout.

01 · Target

Light finds the pigment.

A pulse of laser light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair, traveling down the shaft to the root.

02 · Disable

The follicle is disabled.

That energy turns to heat at the base of the follicle, damaging its ability to grow a new hair while the surrounding skin is protected.

03 · Shed

Treated hairs fall away.

Over the next 1 to 3 weeks, treated hairs shed on their own. With each session, fewer grow back, and those that do are often finer.

Before your sessionGetting ready

  • Shave the area about 24 hours before. Shaving is fine and keeps the root in place.
  • Skip waxing, plucking and threading for 4 weeks beforehand. The laser needs the root to be there.
  • Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning beds and self-tanner for 2 weeks.
  • Arrive with clean skin, free of lotion, deodorant or makeup on the treatment area.

After your sessionTaking care

  • Mild redness and bumps are normal and usually settle within a day or two.
  • Use SPF 30 or higher and avoid direct sun on the area for 2 weeks.
  • Skip the sauna, float tank, hot tubs and intense workouts for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Let hairs shed on their own over 1 to 3 weeks. Shave between sessions, but don't pluck or wax.

Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients describe a warm snap, like a rubber band against the skin. The cooled handpiece helps keep the surface comfortable, and small areas take just minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need about 6 sessions for one area, which is why our packages come in sixes. Sessions are spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area, with the face usually sooner than the body. Some clients choose an occasional touch-up later on.
Is it permanent?
Laser hair removal gives long-term hair reduction. Most clients see a significant, lasting reduction in hair, and any hairs that do grow back tend to be finer and lighter. Hormonal changes can wake up new follicles over time, which a touch-up session can take care of.
Does it work on every hair color and skin tone?
The laser targets pigment, so it works best on dark hair. Very light blonde, red, gray and white hair has little pigment and usually doesn't respond well. Skin tone matters too, so we'll look at your skin and hair at your consultation and set the laser for you.
How do the packages work?
A package covers 6 sessions on the same area, which matches a typical treatment series and costs much less per visit than booking one session at a time. You'll schedule them 4 to 8 weeks apart as your hair cycles through.
Can I treat more than one area?
Yes. Many clients treat a few areas in the same visit. Each area is priced by its size, and we'll put together your plan at your consultation.
Is laser hair removal for men too?
Absolutely. Back, chest, shoulders, neck and the beard line are popular areas for men, and they're priced the same way as any other area.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes, and you should shave before each session. Just avoid waxing, plucking and threading during your treatment series, since the laser needs the root in place.
